Why Behaviour Change Matters in Podiatry
When people think of podiatry, they often imagine treatments for nails, corns, or foot pain. Yet the deeper story is about behaviour change in podiatry — the daily actions that keep feet healthy and patients independent.
The Heart of Podiatry
Every appointment involves behaviour change: footwear decisions, daily foot checks, diabetes routines, ulcer prevention strategies. These small, repeated choices can be the difference between freedom and limitation.
This is why I believe behaviour change is not a side-note — it’s the core of podiatric care.
A Prelude
Over the past year, I realised my clinical work and my academic journey both pointed to one conclusion: podiatry is as much about guiding choices as it is about clinical skills.
That realisation — along with the timely encouragement of my tutors — led me to create something new, a project designed to make behaviour-change science practical for students and clinicians alike.
